Dropped $80 on a "key issue" at a con in Dallas and got a CGC 6.5 for my trouble
Two months ago I paid $80 at a Dallas show for what a dealer called a high grade copy of a Bronze Age book I needed for my run, no grade stated, just his word and a bag. Got it back from CGC two weeks ago as a 6.5 with a color-breaking spine tick he had to have seen, so that was $80 plus $25 in grading down the drain. Do you guys ask for a grade before you hand over cash at a show, or just eyeball it and hope?
