Finally got my buddy to stop calling every superhero movie a 'comic book movie'

He kept saying 'The Batman' was just a comic book movie, but I showed him the specific Detective Comics run it pulls from and explained the difference. It took three tries over the last month to get him to see how the source material really shapes the story. Does anyone else have a friend who mixes up the movies with the actual comics?

Honestly sounds like splitting hairs. A movie based on a comic is a comic book movie. Who cares what run it came from.
