Honestly this is the kind of thing that happens everywhere, not just with comics. People spend years building some perfect system for their stuff and then one person asks a simple question that makes the whole thing feel silly. Same thing happens with music collections, books, old video games, whatever. You get so deep into sorting that you forget other people just want to find a good read. That guy in Portland probably wasn't trying to be mean either, he just looked at it from a normal buyer's view. We all do this, we make rules for ourselves and act like they're the only right way. Then someone says "why not sort by title so people can actually find what they want" and you feel dumb for never thinking of it.
