I finally started reading comics in the right order

For years I just grabbed whatever issue looked cool off the rack at my local shop in Portland. Tbh I never paid attention to story arcs or reading orders. Then last month a guy behind the counter pointed out I was reading X-Men completely backwards. Now I look up the proper sequence online before I start anything new. Has anyone else had that moment where you realized you were reading everything out of order?

Managed to read the entire original Secret Wars storyline backwards once. Thought Dr. Doom was some random guy who suddenly got god powers for no reason and Miles Morales was just there to fill space. Didn't realize I was supposed to start with the Beyonders blowing up the multiverse because that was on the last page of the comic I read first. The guy at my shop nearly choked on his coffee when I asked why everyone was so confused about a giant purple man fighting ants.

Ha, @the_charles nailed it backwards is still a story.

Ever notice how half the stuff we figure out in life makes way more sense once you stop trying to force a certain order onto it? That backwards reading just proved the whole thing is still a story even when you mess it up.
