Just realized something unsettling about new comics and plastic waste

I was organizing my pull list stuff and the pile of polybags and bubble wrap from shipping was huge. It hit me that we're all getting tons of extra plastic just to protect the floppies, you know? Maybe we should ask our local shops about bulk pickup or skipping bags for subscribers. That much trash every week can't be good, and we're the ones creating the demand for it.

Yeah, my pull list comes wrapped like it's surviving a nuclear winter. The planet's dying but at least my Batman #47 stays mint.

How do they use so much plastic for one comic? My shipment last week was just like that, each issue in its own bag. I had to cut back my pulls because it felt wrong.

My buddy Steve switched to weekly pulls last year. His garage has this huge pile of loose boards and empty polybags in the corner now, like a sad comic book graveyard. He showed me how one shipment had five floppies each in their own bag, inside a bigger bubble mailer. He said it just felt wrong tossing all that plastic every Wednesday. Made him cut back to just two titles a month.
