My LCS owner in Fresno swears digital sales killed his back issue bins, but I think he did it himself
Last week I stopped by my local shop in Fresno for the first time since March, and the owner was boxing up his entire back issue wall to make room for more Funko Pops. He kept saying digital comics and Marvel Unlimited killed the back issue market, but three years ago he stopped bagging and boarding new arrivals and just dumped them in a bin unsorted. Half the guys I know who used to dig through those boxes now just order trades online because they got tired of bent corners and missing pages. Is the back issue market really dead, or did shop owners who stopped caring about condition and organization do it to themselves? I want to hear from people who still buy floppies, what keeps you going back to a physical shop?
