Saw a guy pull 30 back issues from a dollar bin at a convention last weekend in St. Louis

He wasn't even flipping through them carefully, just grabbing stacks like they were free candy. I watched him pull a first print of New Mutants 98 and a complete set of the original Secret Wars. Turned out he was a dealer from Kansas who drives to cons just to clean out the cheap bins before anyone else gets there. Has anyone else noticed the same guys hitting every dollar bin first at shows?

Nah, the guy's just doing his job better than everyone else. If you want the good finds, get there before he does.

ok but is it really that serious though? like sure he finds some good stuff but it's not like he's the only one out there digging through bins. i've seen his posts and half of it is just basic records that anyone could grab if they showed up at the right time. people act like he's some kind of vinyl god or something. maybe he's just lucky or has more free time than the rest of us. i dunno, i just think we're putting way too much weight on one guy's weekend haul.

ain't that the truth with everything lately though? feels like if you don't show up first to anything these days, you're just stuck with whatever's left over. same thing with concert tickets, grocery sales, even just finding a parking spot near the good taco place.
