This dude at the Portland comic shop tried to quiz me on my favorite character's backstory
He literally said 'if you can't name the writer of issue #127, you're not a real fan' while I was just trying to buy a trade paperback. Has anyone else had a gatekeeper ruin a chill trip to the store?

That Portland guy is just a symptom of a bigger problem. I see this same "prove your worth" attitude in coffee shops and record stores now. It turns hobbies into stressful job interviews for no reason.
