My neighbor's kid fixed his laptop with a YouTube video and it made me think
I was helping him carry groceries and saw his screen working again. He said he just followed a 15 minute guide for replacing a swollen battery in his old Dell. It was a clean job, no stripped screws or leftover parts. Made me realize we might be too quick to tell people to just buy new. What's the most complex repair you've seen a customer do themselves after we said it wasn't worth it?

Had a guy replace the entire top case on a MacBook Air after we quoted him more than the thing was worth. He ordered the part, watched the videos, and just... did it. Came back to show us.

Wait, he actually came back to show you guys? That takes a special kind of confidence after doing it himself. I'd be too worried you'd spot the one screw I dropped inside the case.
