Overheard a kid at Micro Center say 'why fix it when I can just buy a new one'
That got me thinking about how the whole repair mindset is dying. Has anyone else noticed younger people just tossing computers instead of bothering to swap a $30 power supply?

Drowning in e-waste" yeah but nobody talks about how software updates are a huge part of the problem. My old laptop from 2018 runs fine but last Windows update killed the battery life. Now it's basically a paperweight. Planned obsolescence isn't just about hardware breaking. It's about companies pushing updates that slow your stuff down on purpose. My buddy had a perfectly good iPhone 7 that turned into a brick after the iOS 15 update. That phone should've lasted another couple years easy.
