Wasted $150 on a fancy cable tester that barely worked
I bought this expensive Klein Tools cable tester off Amazon last month thinking it would save me time on network runs. Turns out it kept giving false positives on good cables and missed actual breaks. I spent like 4 hours chasing a bad drop that a simple $20 continuity tester found in 30 seconds. Anyone else have a tool they bought that ended up being more trouble than it was worth?

User error for sure, I'm with @taylor_fox on that one.

Nah, sounds like user error honestly. Klein tools are solid.

Gotta remember that Klein rebranded their Chinese made stuff a few years back though. They used to be all US made but now their budget line is totally different steel and heat treatment. I've got a pair of the older USA linesman's that still cut like day one but the new ones I bought last year chipped on a single copper wire. Not saying they're all bad but the quality control is all over the place now depending on if you get the pro line or the cheapo version. People see the name and assume it's the same company it was 20 years ago.
