Why does nobody talk about how many crappy power supplies you swap before you stop counting?
I just crossed 300 power supply replacements this year in my home shop. It hit me when I was logging #301 for a cheap Dell that came in with bulging caps. I started tracking after I hit 50 back in March and realized it was my most common fix by far. Most of these are just basic 500 watt units that died after 2 years of normal use. Has anyone else noticed a spike in dead PSUs lately or is it just my luck with customers bringing in old office PCs?

Used to think people just complained about nothing. Thought it was user error or bad luck. Then I hit 200 dead PSUs myself this year. Cheap units from old offices mostly. Caps bulge like clockwork after two years. Makes me wonder if manufacturers know exactly when they'll fail.
