Finally figured out why my broom finish always looked streaky

I was finishing a 20x30 patio in Springfield last week and my buddy Mike pointed out I was dragging the broom too fast. I'd been doing it for years, just a quick pull. He showed me how to slow down and use a steady, even pressure. The last section I did looked way better, no more lines. Anyone else have a simple trick that fixed a basic skill?

Always figured a dry broom was best for that rough texture. I used to keep mine bone dry thinking it would bite better. Saw a guy on a crew wet his bristles slightly before each pull, tried it on a small walkway, and the finish was way more even. Totally changed how I prep the tool now.

Guess we've been sweeping wrong this whole time.
