Found out the hard way why my broom finish kept screwing up

For about 6 months in Fresno, I kept getting these faint drag lines on my broom finishes, even though I thought I was doing everything right. Tried different broom stiffness, changed my timing, even switched concrete suppliers once. Then one day I watched my helper sweep the broom in a back and forth motion instead of one continuous pass. That's the whole issue, you stop or change direction mid-slab and it leaves a mark you can't see until it's cured. Now I make sure to walk the full length without pausing, anyone else dealt with this or do you use a different broom angle for the second pass?

That's the thing with most tricky jobs, the problem is always something stupid simple you'd never think to check. Kind of like how my buddy spent a week trying to fix his car's weird noise and it turned out to be a loose cup holder.
