Had to pick between a magnesium float and a steel trowel for a 900 sq ft driveway pour last Friday
My old mag float was shot so I grabbed a new one for $40, but the finish came out grainy compared to the steel trowel I used on a patio job in Boise last summer. Ended up going back over half the slab with the steel trowel and it looked way cleaner, but it cost me an extra hour. Anyone got a go to combo for driveways where you get a smooth finish without burning up your arms?
