I was overworking the surface on garage floors for years

I was finishing a 24x24 garage slab in Tacoma last week and the homeowner pointed out a patch that looked cloudy and weak. My buddy Steve, who was helping, said I was probably floating it too many times and pulling up the cream. I realized I'd been doing an extra pass out of habit, which was actually hurting the finish. Has anyone else found a sweet spot for how many times you float a big slab like that?

Sounds like you were giving that floor a spa treatment it didn't need. Two passes is usually plenty before it gets moody.
