Just ran the numbers on a job I did last month and I'm still mad

I was punching up some bids for a driveway in Austin and decided to check my actual costs from a patio pour I did back in September. Turns out I was 14% over on materials because I didn't account for waste on the mix design I used. Found it buried in a spreadsheet my foreman kept, and now I'm kicking myself for not catching it sooner. Anybody else ever realize they've been losing money on a certain mix for months without knowing?

Oh man, I feel you so hard on this. I was running numbers on some retaining walls last spring and realized I'd been bleeding money on the wrong mortar mix for like five months before I caught it.

Same thing happened to me with gravel base last year, was using the wrong grade for months and wondering why my drainage was garbage. That little mistake added up to a pretty penny before I figured it out.
