Screeding with a 2x4 is for rookies, try a laser level on a stick

I spent 8 years in Austin fighting uneven slabs until I clamped my laser receiver to a 6 foot straight edge and rode it across the wet pour. Leveled 40 yards of driveway in half the time, never looking back. Anyone else run a dry screed setup like this or am I the only weirdo?

Is it just me, or does every trade hit that point where you realize the old way is just people being stubborn about what they already know? Once I stopped fighting the pour and started working with it, everything got way easier.
