Shoutout to the homeowner in Tempe who wanted a dinosaur footprint in their patio

Got a call for a custom patio job last spring, and the guy shows me a picture of a T-Rex footprint from a museum. He says, 'Can you make it look like that stepped here yesterday?' We spent four hours carving the slab with trowels and a grinder to get the toe claws right. The funny part was his kid came out halfway through and asked if we were making a spot for their dog. Anyone ever had to do a wild texture like that for a client?

That's a lot of work for a footprint lol. Did they pay extra for the art project?

Oh man, I totally get it! @nancy_davis, I had a neighbor who paid someone to paint a fake creek running through their whole driveway once, looked like a total tripping hazard but they loved it. People will pay for the weirdest stuff if it makes them happy, I guess.

Oh man that's awesome. I once had a client who wanted a fake meteor crater in their backyard mulch bed, like a little dip with black glass rocks. Looked cool but their cat kept using it as a litter box.
