Warning: I just hit 10,000 square feet of broom finish in a single week and my back is screaming
We had a huge commercial lot pour in Tacoma, and the foreman pushed us to finish the whole exterior walkway area fast before rain hit. I lost track of the yardage, but when I added up my daily sheets, it was over ten thousand square feet of broom finish in five days. That number hit me like a ton of bricks because I've never pulled that much area alone before. My trowel arm feels fine, but my lower back is in a whole different world of hurt from being hunched over that much. I think the constant damp cold from the Pacific Northwest slab didn't help either. Has anyone else pushed past a big square footage number and found a solid way to recover or a better stance to save your back?

Heating pads just mask the pain and can make inflammation worse long term. Icing the area for fifteen minutes reduces swelling way better. That cold slab pain needs real cold therapy, not more heat.

That damp cold from the slab is a killer, but a heating pad on low for twenty minutes helps me more than ice.
