Chat with a geologist in Nevada about the whole flat earth thing
I was in a diner outside Reno last week and this older guy who maps rock formations for a living started talking to me about conspiracy theories. He said the flat earth movement bothers him because it ignores basic math that's been proven for 2,000 years. He pulled out a napkin and showed me how Eratosthenes measured the Earth's curve back in 240 BC with just shadows and a stick. It hit me different because he wasn't angry or mocking, he just laid out the facts calmly. How do you deal with people who reject that kind of simple evidence?
