Had to choose between two drone cameras for tracking crop circles

So I finally got enough cash to check out the weird patterns in that field near Roseburg, Oregon. I was torn between a thermal camera and a standard 4K with a zoom lens, went with the thermal because I got a deal at 400 bucks. The thing is, it picked up these perfect circular temperature differences that the visible light totally missed. Now I'm wondering if those patterns are natural or if someone's messing with the ground, anyone else tried thermal for this kind of thing?

Ha! So you bought a thermal camera to spy on crop circles and now you're playing amateur X-Files in Roseburg. Of course it picked up weird heat spots, that's what those things do. Next you'll be telling us the corn is whispering secrets and the scarecrows are watching you. Look, circular temperature patterns in a field could be anything from old compost piles to buried debris to a neighbor's prank with a propane torch. But if the visible light shows nothing, your 400 bucks just bought you a ticket to paranoia. Maybe check the soil moisture next time instead of assuming aliens have central heating.
