My phone's location data got weird after a Denver software update
I mean, my phone updated last Tuesday and suddenly it thought I was in Boulder when I was home in Denver. I factory reset it and it fixed it, but idk, maybe it's just me but that feels off. Has anyone else had a device act strange after an update, or is that a normal glitch?

That's not a normal glitch at all, and a factory reset is a pretty big step. Updates can mess with location services pretty badly sometimes. I had a similar problem a few years back where my map app was completely wrong for a week. Before you reset next time, try turning location services off and back on in your settings, and make sure your GPS is set to high accuracy. If that doesn't work, clearing the cache for your map apps often fixes it.

Yeah I feel that. My GPS once tried to send me into a lake because it thought the road kept going. I was following turn by turn and just about had a heart attack. Had to pull over and manually zoom out to see the whole mess. Now I double check the route if it looks even a little weird.

Push back a little here, mary. Factory reset is definitely a big step but sometimes that's the only thing that actually clears out all the junk after a bad update. I had this exact thing happen with my old Pixel after a security patch two years ago. Spent hours toggling location on and off, clearing maps cache, switching accuracy modes. None of it stuck. Location would work for a few hours then drift again. Finally reset the phone and it was perfect after that. So I get why the original poster went straight to a factory reset, sometimes those little fixes just don't cut it when the update really messes with the underlying system files.
