Showerthought: Picking between a gas dryer and electric in my new place

Moved into a rental in Phoenix last month. Had to choose between a gas hookup in the garage or electric in the laundry closet. Went with gas because my buddy swore by it. Dried a load of towels in 35 minutes flat. Electric takes like an hour at my old spot. But now I'm paranoid about carbon monoxide leaks. Has anyone else dealt with gas dryer anxiety or am I overthinking this?

My buddy Tom got one for his utility closet after his water heater acted up. Thing saved his whole place while he was at work. You ever think about how many things in a house can quietly go wrong?
