The "unbreakable" ladder at my storage unit folded in half on me yesterday

I was hauling boxes down from the top shelf at Public Storage off 42nd Street when the locking mechanism gave out. Dropped the whole load and nearly landed on a pile of glassware. Anyone else had safety gear fail at the worst possible moment?

Check if they tightened all the bolts to spec from the factory.

Yeah @leo_carr13, that's a solid point. Torque specs matter more than most people think.
