A client's one-line note about my bids changed my whole process

Had a homeowner in Tacoma write 'too vague' on every line item of my estimate last fall. I used to lump materials and labor together, figured close enough was fine. After that, I broke everything down into specific tasks with exact counts and prices. Took me an extra 20 minutes per bid, but my acceptance rate went from maybe 1 in 8 to almost half in the last 6 months. People really respond when they can see where every dollar lands. Any other contractors here do itemized breakdowns, or is that just overkill for smaller jobs?
