Found a trick for getting paid faster from a big client in Dallas

Last month, I finished a kitchen remodel for a client in Highland Park and they were taking weeks to cut the check. My buddy told me to add a small line on the invoice for a 'prompt payment discount' of like 2% if paid within 10 days. I tried it and got the full payment in 7 days... they just took the discount off the total. Has anyone else used a trick like this with bigger companies?

Yeah @jesse_cooper, I kinda see it the other way honestly. Sometimes people forget these things and it's not like they're trying to pull a fast one on you. A quick fix isn't exactly handing out free stuff.
