Just hit 50 projects finished in a year and it feels weird
I never thought I'd get there, especially after that slow start in March. What's a number that made you stop and think about your own pace?

Honestly the number itself is less interesting than what you had to give up to hit it. Like, 50 projects means saying no to a lot of other things, right? Makes me wonder if I'm even counting the right things or just chasing a metric that looks good. That pace has to change how you see your work, maybe in a way that's not all good.

Exactly, what's the point of hitting a big number if you're just counting the wrong stuff? Sounds like you're just making a fancy list of busywork to feel better about saying no to everything that actually matters. I've seen people chase metrics so hard they forget why they started doing the work in the first place. It turns into a game where you're just trying to beat your own high score, not make anything good. You end up with fifty shallow projects instead of five really solid ones.

Nah I gotta push back a little here. 50 is a lot but it doesn't automatically mean shallow work. Some of us just work fast and keep things focused. You can build something solid in a week if you know what you're doing.
