My laser level took a dive off a ladder and I changed my whole approach

Tbh I used to think any level was fine, just needed a bubble. Then last Tuesday my green laser dropped 8 feet onto a concrete slab in Austin and the calibration was shot. I checked it against a known straight edge and it was off by almost a quarter inch over 20 feet. That small error would have ruined a whole cabinet run I was about to install. I ended up borrowing my buddy's rotary laser and now I see why guys spend the extra cash on self-leveling units with shock mounts. Anyone else had a tool fall and then rethink their buying habits?
