Spent $1200 on a new estimating software last quarter
It cut my bid prep time in half, but the mobile app is so glitchy I can't use it on site. Is a desktop-only system still worth it these days?

Cutting your bid time in half is a huge win, that's the main goal. The mobile thing is a real pain though. A desktop-only system can still work if most of your heavy work is at the office. You just have to plan around it, maybe take notes on site and enter them later. The real question is if that extra step kills the time you saved in the first place.

Exactly, that's the trade-off. I tried a desktop-only tool last year and the double entry just killed my momentum. Ended up back on paper for site visits.
