TIL my torque wrench was off by 30% the whole time

Had a flange bolt on a commercial HVAC unit keep snapping on me last Tuesday. Thought I was crazy, so I tested my old Craftsman torque wrench against a brand new one at the shop. Turns out the springs had sagged from sitting in the truck bed all summer. Replaced it for $110 and havent had a single issue since. Anyone else ever trust a worn out tool way too long?
