Tired of lost screws, I started using a parts organizer

I always tossed small parts into a messy pile in my truck. It meant constant searching and missed deadlines on site. One day, a client got mad because I delayed fixing their deck. So I grabbed a basic parts organizer from the store. Now I label each section for nails, screws, and brackets. My packing time is faster, and I finish jobs without hassle. Really should have done this sooner.

Honestly, is a lost screw worth all that? I get the idea, but now you're stuck doing inventory management instead of just digging through a can. Feels like you traded one small annoying task for a different, slightly more organized annoying task.

How much extra time does it take to sort and label everything, versus just grabbing from the pile? Does it actually save time or just move the work around?

Marie Kondo's show proves sorting saves time, @luna_young1.
