Warning: My client's site traffic dropped by half in two weeks after a core update.

They had been buying cheap backlinks for months, and Google finally caught them. Has anyone else seen this happen recently and managed to recover?

Disavow the bad links and build real ones.

Honestly saw the same thing last month. Took ages to fix those spammy links.

Yeah, "took ages to fix" really hits home. It feels like everything online is getting clogged with junk that you have to clean up yourself. I see it with fake reviews on shopping sites and bot comments on videos too. It's just constant maintenance now, sorting the real stuff from the spam. Makes you miss when things just worked without all this extra hassle.
