I thought dragon's blood trees were a fake internet thing until I stood next to one in Socotra last March

I always figured those photos were edited because nothing that looks like an upside down umbrella with red sap should be real. Then a guide on a 6 day trip cut the bark with his knife and the sap came out dark red, exactly like the pics. Has anyone else seen the sap in person or is it just a Socotra thing?
