A client told me she hates the 'clean girl' look and it made me think
She said, 'It just looks like you're trying too hard to look like you're not trying.' I've been pushing that aesthetic for months, but her point about it feeling forced for some people was solid. Do you ever have a style you love that a client just shuts down?

Lol that's the risk of any trend getting too popular. It stops looking cool and starts looking like a uniform. You spend all this time making messy hair look perfect and someone just sees a try-hard. I've had clients side-eye the 'old money' look for the same reason. Sometimes you just have to laugh when a style you're into gets called out.

Honestly who cares if it looks like a uniform? It's just clothes.

Disagree hard on the uniform thing. The whole point of personal style is to wear what makes YOU feel good, not to avoid looking like other people. If a look gets popular it's because it works for a lot of folks, and that's fine. Calling someone a try-hard just for liking a trend feels like missing the point of fashion entirely.
