Bought a cheap Brazilian blowout kit off Amazon and my client's hair turned green

Used one of those $30 kits on a regular last Saturday and after the first wash her highlights came out lime green. Has anyone else had a bad reaction with those no-name keratin treatments or was it just a bad batch?

Respectfully, I gotta push back a little here. That $30 kit probably wasn't a real Brazilian blowout, it's more like a cheap knockoff with harsh chemicals that reacted with the hair dye. Real formaldehyde-free treatments from brands like Marcia Teixeira or Cadiveu are expensive for a reason, they're formulated to not strip color. I'd blame the specific product, not the whole category of smoothing treatments. Maybe stick with a trusted brand next time or test on a small strand first.

Not gonna lie, I bought a cheap one once and my whole kitchen smelled like burnt hair for two days. My cat wouldn't come near me. I had to air out the apartment for a week. The smell was so bad my neighbor knocked on the door and asked if something died. Haven't touched a bargain keratin kit since.
