Chat with a barber at the bus stop changed how I approach haircuts
I was waiting for the 42 bus last Thursday and this older barber named Lou starts talking to me about clipper maintenance. He said most cosmetologists treat their tools like they're disposable and replace them every 6 months instead of just cleaning and oiling properly. I realized I've been throwing away money on new clippers when a simple cleaning routine would make them last years. Has anyone else switched up their tool care and noticed a difference?

@tylerr39 I still managed to break mine somehow, think I oiled the wrong part.

You ever just have one of those moments where someone points out something obvious you've been missing for years? I used to think replacing clippers every few months was just the cost of doing business, but Lou makes a solid point. I cleaned and oiled my old Wahl set after reading this post and they're cutting way smoother now, like brand new almost. It's really just a few minutes of maintenance that I was too lazy to bother with before. Simple stuff like that adds up when you think about it.
