Had a client's color processing way too fast in a humid salon last summer, turned it around with a cold water rinse.

Wait, cold water really fixes that? I always thought heat was the main problem with color running in humidity. That's a solid tip. Makes sense it would close the cuticle down fast. I'm filing that away for next time it gets muggy in here.

Yeah @the_ryan, I keep a spray bottle of ice water in the fridge just for that.

Gonna gently push back on that fridge idea, cold water is solid but ice water straight from the fridge can be a little too shocky for some color treatments, especially if the hair is already compromised. Room temp to slightly cool water does the trick for me without risking cuticle or color shock on fragile strands. Just something to watch out for, your mileage may vary depending on the client's hair history.
