I fought my salon owner for 2 months about not double booking color clients, then a Saturday in March changed my mind
She had me stagger foils every 20 minutes instead of stacking 3 heads at once and my 4pm bleach out actually left on time for the first time in 6 weeks. Anyone else run a stagger schedule, or does it fall apart when walk ins show up?

Staggering every 20 min keeps things moving but the real trick is what you do with the gaps between foils. If you're just standing there waiting for the next head you're wasting time, so I started folding in quick stuff during those windows like glosses on a different client or a bang trim. Walk ins are the killer though, we post a sign that says walk ins get booked into the next open slot and it's usually 45 min out. Most people are cool with it once they see the place isn't a circus, and the ones who aren't were gonna be a pain either way lol.
