Right, "silly stuff just works" - that's for sure. I had this old pickup truck that would only start if you tapped the starter motor with a wrench a certain way. Everyone thought I was crazy, but that little whack was the only thing that got me to work for like two months straight. Eventually it died for good, but I swear by that silly little trick still.
