My appointment book hit 42 clients this month, which is wild because I only opened my chair in March.
I honestly didn't think I'd fill my schedule so fast, but focusing on curly hair cuts in my home salon really found a local crowd that was looking for it. Has anyone else had a specific service unexpectedly become their main draw?

That's awesome about hitting 42 clients. Focusing on curly cuts is such a smart move. It makes total sense that you found a crowd looking for it, since a lot of salons don't really get curly hair. It's cool when you find that one thing people really need.

Yeah, about the "one thing" part. I get what you mean, but it's not really a single thing. Curly cuts are a whole system. It's not just the cut, it's knowing how different curls behave, what products won't weigh them down, and how to style it so it actually dries right. A lot of stylists just cut it wet and straight, which messes everything up. So it's more like building a whole set of skills around one hair type. Makes you wonder how many other hair types get the same bad service, right?
