My bleach bowl cracked mid-foil and I had to improvise fast
Last Thursday I was doing a full highlight on a client and my ceramic mixing bowl just split right down the middle while I was stirring. Bleach went everywhere, got on my pants and the floor. I grabbed a disposable cup from my station drawer and mixed the rest of the batch in that, but it was super awkward holding it steady. Has anyone else had a bowl crack on them like that or am I just unlucky?

Bruh that's a nightmare, disposable cups are way too sketchy for bleach mixing.

The old Solo cups from the 1990s actually had a different plastic blend than what they use now. I remember reading a chemical safety sheet years ago that showed those cups could break down in minutes with certain cleaning agents. @elliotr39 you're right to be cautious about disposables, but honestly any plastic container is risky with bleach mixtures. The real issue is that people don't let bleach solutions sit long enough to neutralize before pouring them out. I've seen buckets develop hairline cracks from repeated use with strong bleach, and that's with heavy duty containers meant for the job. If someone really needs to mix bleach, they should use glass or find a stainless steel container made for chemical handling.
