My hot iron died mid-curl on a client yesterday

I was doing a blowout and my 1-inch iron just stopped heating halfway through section 3. Had to finish with a backup that didn't hold the curl as well. Anyone have a reliable brand that lasts more than a year?

My buddy in the salon down the street had this EXACT thing happen with her BaByliss iron last spring. She was doing a full head of spiral curls for a wedding and the thing just clicked off at the halfway mark, like it gave up. She had to borrow my cheap Conair from my car to finish, and the bride was NOT happy with the hold. Her replacement was a Hot Tools 1-inch and she's had it over two years now with no issues.

Wait the bride was actually upset about the hold? Idk, that sucks because it's not even your fault when your tool just dies on you like that. I mean, you can only work with what you've got, you know?
