PSA: That cheap ion brush set cost me $210 in damaged hair

Back in March I bought a 12 piece ion brush kit off an auction site. Sounded like a deal at $38. Those brushes ripped through wet hair like a weed whacker. Three clients came back with split ends and one nearly cried over her broken strands. I ended up buying a decent set from the beauty supply for $74 and spent $98 on bonding treatments to fix the damage. Lesson learned: never try to save money on brushes that touch wet hair. Has anyone else had a bargain tool backfire this badly?
