Shoutout to the stylist in Tampa who insisted I try a razor cut on thick hair
I was sure it would just cause split ends, but after seeing the movement she got on a client with hair like mine, I'm a convert. Anyone with coarse textures tried this and had good results?

Oh man, I was totally in the same boat! I have super thick hair and always thought razors would just shred it to pieces. My stylist finally talked me into it last fall, and I swear it was like she unlocked a whole new level of volume and texture I didn't know my hair could have. It doesn't feel damaged at all, just way lighter and actually moves now. I'm never going back to regular scissors for my layers, lol.

My friend Sarah has super thick, coarse hair and was always against razors. Her stylist in Austin convinced her to try it last year, and she sent me a video of her hair actually moving in the wind for once, lol. She said it took out so much weight without thinning it out weirdly. Now she gets it done every few months and her hair has way more shape.
