Spent $250 on a fancy hair steamer and it collects dust now
I bought a professional hair steamer thinking it would save me time on perms and deep conditioning treatments. Turns out it made my clients' hair frizzy and took forever to clean between appointments. Anyone else regret a big tool purchase that just didn't deliver?

Jump right in with the regret train... it's funny how we get sold on these fancy tools that promise to fix everything when half the time the simple stuff works just fine. I've noticed a pattern where people buy gadgets thinking they'll solve problems that are really about technique or effort, not equipment. Like my mom bought one of those expensive countertop pizza ovens, spent $400, and still just uses her old baking stone because the fancy one is too much hassle to preheat. The hair steamer sounds like the same deal - all hype and no real improvement over what you already had working. Feels like we're all suckers for a shiny new thing that promises to be a shortcut but ends up being a dust collector...

Took forever to clean" lol yep that's the real nightmare nobody mentions. Spent $300 on a steam iron once thinking it'd be a game changer. Ended up using it twice because the steam left weird water spots on everything. Now it's a very expensive paperweight. At least your steamer can double as a humidifier for your plants if you're desperate.
