Tried wet cutting versus dry cutting on a client with thick hair last week
I've always dry cut my curly clients but this one woman had hair so dense I couldn't even get my shears through it dry. Soaked it down and suddenly I could actually see the shape I was making without fighting frizz. Anyone else switch methods based on hair texture mid-service?

Couldn't even get my shears through it dry" - yeah I've been there. Felt like I was trying to cut a wool sweater with safety scissors. I usually stick with dry cutting for curls but I've definitely had those clients where you just have to surrender and get them wet before you break your wrist. Did the shape hold okay once it dried or did you get that weird shrinkage surprise?

That "surrender and get them wet" part really resonates. It's like how you can try to force your way through any tricky project, but sometimes you just have to take a step back and change your approach. I've noticed that in a lot of things, not just hair.
