Wasted $80 on a heat protectant spray that did nothing
I bought that expensive Thermal Shield spray from the beauty supply store thinking it would save my hair from my flat iron. After three uses my ends looked fried and a friend told me to just use a lower heat setting instead. Anyone else fall for a product that just made things worse?

Lower heat won't fix cheap product damage. User error isn't the product's fault.

Exactly right, @clark.iris. People blame the material but it's usually how they treat it. Saw someone post about their straightener snapping after they dropped it on tile. That's not a defect. That's gravity doing its job.
Same with blow dryers. Run one for an hour straight without a break and wonder why the motor dies. Common sense stuff.
Cheap products can be fine if you're careful. Expensive products can break if you're reckless. It's not that complicated.
