20 years in and I just learned my tagline hand signals were backwards
I was working a job in Pittsburgh last month moving steel beams for a bridge repair. The signalman gave me what I thought was a boom up signal, but the foreman started yelling at me to stop. Turns out I had been reading the hand signals wrong for two decades. Has anyone else had a moment where you realized you were doing something basic totally wrong the whole time?

Wait, were you just mixing up boom up and boom down, or was it something more specific like confusing a swing signal?
