A rigger in Philly told me to always look at the hook before the load
We were setting a 15-ton AC unit on a tight roof, and I was focused on the load chart. He pointed at the hook block and said, 'Your eyes go there first, every lift. If that's wrong, nothing else matters.' It was a simple thing, but I do it now before every pick. Anyone else have a small check they do that became automatic?

That seems like a great way to miss something else important.

Focus on what you're actually doing instead of stressing about what you might miss later. @cole_lee9 probably knows the feeling of getting sidetracked by worrying about other things. The key is to trust your process and handle one thing at a time. Multitasking usually just makes everything worse anyway.

Totally, I've done that before and it's a real pain.
